Keyboard lives in the menu bar. Once macOS has granted it Accessibility access, it watches for text typed in the wrong layout and fixes it as you carry on typing. Every correction can be undone with a single key.
Why does it need Accessibility access?
macOS requires that permission for any app that reads and corrects text as you type. There is no other way for an app to do this. Keyboard uses it only for that, on your Mac, and you can revoke it at any time in System Settings under Privacy & Security.
It corrected something I did not want changed.
Press the undo shortcut and the original text comes straight back. If a particular app keeps producing unwanted corrections, you can exclude that app.
Does it work in the terminal and in my editor?
Yes, and that is the difference. Most layout switchers turn themselves off in terminals and development tools. Keyboard keeps working there, which is where wrong-layout typing hurts most.
What about password fields?
Password fields can be excluded, so nothing is read or corrected while you type a password.
Which languages are supported?
Keyboard is built for people typing in Russian and English. That is the pair where layout mistakes happen most, and it is what the detection is tuned for.
Does anything I type leave my Mac?
No. Correction happens on your machine. Your typing is not recorded, collected, or sent anywhere.
I am coming from Punto Switcher. Will this feel familiar?
Yes. It covers the same need on the Mac, with instant undo on every correction, and it keeps working in terminals and editors where switchers of that kind usually stop.
Is Keyboard available for Windows?
No. Keyboard is a Mac app, built for macOS.
